MARBLEHEAD — After last summer’s eight-win season and the team typically finishing with less than 10 wins, the Marblehead Seasiders have turned a big page.

The Seasiders, of the 10-team North Shore Baseball League, stand at 12-11-1. Their 25 points has them in fifth place and holding a playoff spot.

“We’re in the playoffs, which won’t begin until Sunday or Monday,” said founder Joe McKane. “We’ll probably be a bottom-four team, which means we’re going to have to play some away games.”

The Red and White racked up a pair of wins against Swampscott last weekend, followed by Monday night’s victory against North Reading. Wilbur Rosario and newly-acquired David Stepan each smashed home runs.

When asked about this summer’s success and turnaround, McKane was quick to respond.

“We won a lot of close games,” he said. “Mike Mitchell and Brennan Frost made a real effort in the offseason to get some more guys, and it worked. … Frost was our best pitcher and won a couple of games, too.”

According to the league’s online statistics, Marblehead’s offensive contributors have been Trey Blackmer (10 H, 10 R, 8 RBI, 9 BB), Rosario (15 H, 12 R), Stepan (11 H, 7 R, 7 RBI, 5 BB), Enrique Quinonez (6 H, 9 R, 7 RBI, 6 BB), Spencer Merrick (9 H, 3 R, 7 RBI, 5 BB), Ben Shea (7 H, 5 R, 3 RBI, 2 BB), Mitchell (7 H, 7 R, 6 RBI, 10 BB), Frost (13 H, 6 R, 8 RBI, 5 BB), Connor McNamara (6 H, 4 R, 4 RBI, 2 BB), and Gabe Fales (9 H, 6 R, 3 RBI, 6 BB).

“We’ve made the playoffs a couple of times in the last 10 years and we’d like to get to the next round. We want to win the first round and along with 12 wins, that’d be good,” McKane said. “We’re looking forward to the offseason with Seaside (Park) getting done, the infield especially, so when it rains, we don’t have to wait three days to play. That’ll be exciting.”
