A rare Saturday night soccer tilt saw the Marblehead girls tie North Andover, 1-1, at Piper Field. Phoebe Fontela-Tuttle scored her second goal of the season (unassisted) and goalkeeper Hailey Gilmore collected five key saves.

North Andover (3-0-1) knotted the scoreboard with 16 minutes remaining. Marblehead (1-1-3) coach Lisa Wales said Stella Smith was “a force” in the midfield and that Nina Badzak also played well.

“The intensity was there, we won the 50-50 balls, and made the right runs — this was our best game so far this season,” Wales said. “Hailey Gilmore has been a steady presence for us in net. She is calm and had another terrific game with five saves. … Phoebe is working hard and after being injured last season, it’s terrific to see her back to her pre-injury self.”
