A collision between a pickup truck and a limo bus in Southold on Saturday afternoon sent six people to local hospitals with minor injuries, according to the Southold Police Department.
The crash occurred at the intersection of County Route 48 and Youngs Avenue at around 1:40 p.m., as heavy rain lashed the North Fork, a police official said.
Police said a woman driving a Toyota Tacoma west on County Route 48 attempted to turn left onto Youngs Avenue and collided with an eastbound Mercedes Sprinter carrying seven passengers.
“Four of the seven limo bus passengers were transported to local hospitals with very minor injuries,” a Souhold police official told The Suffolk Times. “Both drivers were also transported to local hospitals with very minor injuries. The remaining three passengers were evaluated at the scene, refused medical transport and were not taken to the hospital.”
Traffic on busy County Route 48 backed up in both directions while police investigated the crash and cleared the roadway.
No charges were filed.
