NORTH ANDOVER — Athletes from eight local high schools competed in the weekend’s MIAA Meet of Champions, held at Merrimack College.
St. John’s Prep won the 4x100m relay with a meet-record time of 41.69. Running for the Eagles were Andrew McManmon, Dayvian Sullivan, Ethan Stefanovich, and Ahmir Hykel.
Prep’s Mickey Kuleszka took second in javelin (181-01).
Kelsey Kwiatek impressed for St. Mary’s, placing ninth in the 2-mile (11:12.92) and 15th in the mile (5:04.08). Right behind her was teammate McKenna O’Connell, who finished in 5:06.50.
Swampscott was represented by Annabelle Averett, who finished 17th in the 800m (2:16.31).
Saugus was present and accounted for. Destiny Okoye took third in high jump (5-04) and Peyton DiBiasio placed sixth in javelin (116-09).
Madison Holleran finished fourth in discus (120-02) for Peabody, also placing 17th in shot put (33-11). Also for the Tanners, Avani Ingham finished 17th in the 400m (59.51) and 25th in triple jump (35-00). Osama Mishal finished 20th in the 400mh (56.99), while the 4x800m relay team of Mishal, Matt McCusker, Jackson Guerriero, and Mohamed Lhassouani took 16th (8:09.75).
Marianna Kay (2-mile – 28th – 11:59.77) and Julia Davis (400mh – 29th – 1:09.25) ran for Bishop Fenwick. The Crusaders’ 4x800m relay team of Kay, Davis, Olivia Rowe, and Adelaide Sweatman finished 22nd in 10:03.06.
Marblehead was well-represented by Colin Hart (400mh – 24th – 57.33), Clark Roszell (high jump – 14th – 6-02), Marrietta O’Connell (2-mile – 19th – 11:30.09), and the 4x800m relay team of O’Connell, Sarah Munroe, Eleanor Morgan, and Norah Walsh (14th – 9:45.79).
Lynnfield’s Nick Kelter caught eyes with a fourth-place finish in triple jump (47-02.50). Teammate Abby Lopez ran the 2-mile in 12:09.27, securing 29th place.
