Eleanor Conrardy


Eleanor Conrardy of Southold passed away at home on Friday, Aug. 21, 2026. She was 98 years old.

Eleanor was born on May 22, 1928 in Brooklyn to Agnes (née McAndrew) and Peter Bertos. She was one of two children. Raised in Brooklyn, she graduated from high school with the class of 1946. She moved to Babylon, N.Y. in 1947.

She married the love of her life, the late S. Joseph Conrardy, at Saint Joseph’s R.C. Church in Babylon on Sept. 10, 1949. Together they had two children, and made their home in Babylon, before moving to Southold in 1968.

In her professional career, Eleanor was a drafter for NY Telephone Company in Patchogue, N.Y. She was a member of Saint Patrick’s R.C. Church in Southold and a member of the Catholic Daughters of America.

Predeceased by her husband S. Joseph Conrardy; and sister Loretta Marshall; Eleanor is survived by her children Richard Conrardy (Deborah) of Southold and Gayle Savage (Michael) of Southold; and grandchildren Kristen, Kerry, Gregory and Christopher.

The Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, Aug. 27 at 11 a.m. at Saint Patrick’s R.C. Church in Southold, officiated by Father Abraham Thannickal. Interment will follow at Calverton National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Kent Animal Shelter or North Fork Animal Welfare League would be appreciated. DeFriest-Grattan Funeral Home in Southold is serving the family.
