LYNN — Does the running ever stop at Manning Field?

The third meet of the 12th Annual Summer Youth Track Meet Series brought another exciting evening of competition to Lynn. Young athletes from across Massachusetts competed in sprint and distance events.

While Lynn natives collected most of the titles, competitors from Peabody and Salem delivered strong performances.

The shortest distance was the 30-meter race as Charlotte Holen captured the girls’ title in 11 seconds, while Dayvian Mosley won the boys’ race in 8.1.

Lakeoisha Dervis claimed the girls’ 50-meter race in 7 seconds, while the boys’ race produced the evening’s only first-place tie as Sean Toro and Zakhi Barboza clocked 6.7s. Peabody’s Gael Delacruz earned fifth.

Toro went from tying in the 50-meter race to winning the 100-meter dash all to himself, finishing in 12.1 seconds. Rodney Baptilas finished second, while Barboza clocked third. Delacruz earned another top-five finish.

On the girls’ side of the 100-meter dash, Kissalry Crespo earned the title after her 14.9-second burst — just seconds ahead of speedy Mia Armstrong.

Delacruz made it a memorable Monday, running a 33.9 in the 200-meter, which was good enough for bronze. Rodney Baptilas captured the boys’ championship in 30.1 seconds, while Salem’s Toha Moronda added a fourth-place finish in 36.8. 

Arianni Adorno (37) snatched first on the girls’ side.

Completing a lap around the track, the 400-meter race saw Nathalia Lopez cross the finish line first in 1:22.8. Lopez submitted the best overall time, while Alex Lopez won the boys’ division in 1:27.8.

Trucy Sully won the girls’ 800-meter race in 3:16.6, while Dwen Candy won the boys’ event in 4:08.4. Toha Moronda represented Salem well in 4:26.1. 

Competing in the longest distance offered, Salem’s Abigail Lamothe won the girls’ mile with a time of 8:07.0.
