LYNN — A 16-year-old suffered multiple stab wounds in the area of Bennett Street and Elmwood Avenue on Friday afternoon.
Police officials said the department received a call at 1:32 p.m. for an assault and battery in the area and responded. Yellow police tape was placed around the area of the Bennett Street Playground.
The victim was treated at the scene and later transported to North Shore Medical Center in Salem.
He is currently listed in stable but critical condition, according to the Lynn Police Department.
The incident is actively being investigated by Lynn police detectives and the Massachusetts State Police.
The department said there is no threat to public safety.
