Track and field athletes ran away with the weekend as local schools were well-represented across divisional Massachusetts State Track Coaches Association (MSTCA) relays.
Division 1
St. John’s Prep cruised to the Division 1 title at New Bedford High Saturday with 83 points — well ahead of runner-up Lexington, which tallied 68 points.
The Eagles finished first in five events. Andrew McManmon, Dayvian Sullivan, Ethan Stefanovich, and Ahmir Hykel set a state record and won both the 4×100 (41.80) and 4×200 relays (1:28.34). Tyson Stroope, Jude Dawson, and Alex Turrisi won the high jump (5.48)
Ethan Caulfield, William Seaha, and Joe Irzyk won the shot put (43.53). Mickey Kuleszka, Davin McClory, and Turrisi won the javelin (125.06). Irzyk, Connor Quigley, and Nicholas Kokonezis finished second in the discus (114.01). Sullivan, Stroope, and Turrisi finished third in the long jump (19.39).
Henry McDonnell, Isaac Sidmore, Colton Friedlander, and Mateo DeOrio finished third in the DMR 4,000 relay (10:43.00), while Leo Emerson, Davin McClory, Cam Carangelo, and Stroope finished third in the 4×110 shuttle hurdle relay (1:03.65).
McDonnell, Liam Callahan, Liam Mahoney, and Leo Seltenrich took fifth in the 4×1,600 relay (18:31.24).
Division 2
The Peabody boys and girls track teams finished 11th Saturday at Bridgewater-Raynham High with 22 and 26 points, respectively.
Madison Holleran, Marianna Pint-Gomez, Ava Gonzales paced first in the discus (114-10), while Holleran, Gonzalez, and Sarah Flanagan snagged second in the shot put (34-03).
Lauren Foley, Avani Ingham, Ella Braz, and Avery Marcus placed fifth in the 4×800 relay (10:12.80).
On the boys’ side, Matt Dresser, Jake Marcotullio, and Cedric Leger placed second in both the shot put (39.00) and discus (110.84).
Division 4
At Pembroke High Sunday, the Marblehead boys finished eighth with 20 points and the girls 12th with 12 points.
Norah Walsh, Sarah Munroe, Eleanor Morgan, and Marietta O’Connell won the 4×1600 relay (22:26.19). Graham Firestone, Phineas Jakious, and Alexander Humphreys won the javelin relay (129.43).
Division 5
At Triton Regional Friday, the Lynnfield girls topped the local charts with 42 points to finish third. Bishop Fenwick finished tied for sixth with 35 points and Swampscott 17th with 12 points.
Sofia Giardina, Madison Minnear, Kaylee Barrett, and Aislin McCormack finished third in the 4×400 (4:20.24). Giardina, Barrett McCormack, and Abby Lopez finished fourth in the SMR 1,600 (4:27.63).
Moore, Emma Greenleaf, and Nora Donovan finished second in the pole vault (22-06). Kate Shrewsbury, Allison Maddocks, and Erica Manning tied for third in the high jump (4.18). Donovan, Sabrina Cappachietti, McCormack, and Emma Greenleaf finished fifth in the 4×100 shuttle hurdles (1:16.13). Lopez, Elliana Moretti, and Emrys Klee finished third in the javelin (71 m). Klee, Moretti, and Jamie Broady took fifth in the discus (63.32).
The Crusaders captured gold in two events. Julia Davis, Olivia Rowe, Adelaide Sweatman, and Marianna Kay won the 4×800 relay (10:03.46) and also the DMR 4,000 (13:29.45). Kyleigh Pidgeon, Jane Koulopoulos, and Kailyn Grassia finished third in the discus (66.46). Pidgeon, Julia Jin, and Alexandra Cassamassima finished fifth in the shot put (22.8).
The Big Blue’s Kathleen Nohelty, Annabelle Averett, Ella Priplata, and Julianne Sheehan finished fourth in the DMR 4,000 (13:47.85). Averett, Michelle Hayes, Lucy Reilly, and Veronica Swiercz scored fifth in the SMR 1,600 (4:32.43). Chloe Pitts took fourth in the discus (81-05).
On the boys’ side, Swampscott finished 11th with 23 points, Lynnfield 16th with 10 points, and Fenwick 23rd with one point.
The Big Blue’s Lincoln Geaney, Atticus Jakious, Anthony Colella, and Simon Ramos won the 4×1,600 relay (18:46.92). Ryan Freed, Isaiah Costa Creveling, Holden Young, and Ramos finished fourth in the DMR 4,000 (11:47.16). Benjamin White, Doyle Delano, and Samuel Morse finished fifth in the shot put (35.81).
Lynnfield’s Chase Bergeron, Kenneth Waldron Price, Adrian Marton, and Marko Tare finished fourth in the 4×100 shuttle hurdles (1:16.82).
