It was a memorable Wednesday for Lynn Tech, which saw its boys and girls track and field teams capture Commonwealth Athletic Conference titles.

The boys (4-0) defeated Innovation Academy 106-30.

“Anthony Brown was great today,” said boys coach John Hogan. “He had his two best times in the 100m and 200m, and he moved to No. 9 in Div. 4 in the long jump.”

The girls (4-0) took care of Innovation 97-37. First-place finishers were Kassandra Pena (400m), Skylar Sanchez (100mh, 400mh), Wilmarlyn Fernandez (2-mile), Zahara Belizaire (shot put), Kissairy Crespo (800m), and Leslie Zorrilla (100m).

“My girls have worked hard all year,” said girls coach James Runner. “I’m extremely proud of them.”

Brayden Crawford batted 4-for-5 as the Sachems powered through the Witches. Jordan Rodriguez, Tre Riley, Chris Mazin, Garrett Peavey (2), and Crawford all registered RBI during the opening inning.

Eli Fialho got the start for Saugus and conceded no hits across 2 2/3 innings, all while striking out five batters and allowing just one walk. Peavey pitched 2 1/3 innings, allowing one hit and striking out three.

Call it a perfect Senior Day for the Rams (13-5), who celebrated seven seniors (all of whom recorded at least one hit).

Anaih Medrano batted 3-for-4 with three runs and five RBI. Aysia Olaes compiled four hits and six RBI, while Brooke Braswell (4 H, 4 RBI) and Emma Chevalier (2 H) helped the cause. Jadyn Carroll, Angelina St. Pierre, and McKenna Duncan registered hits.

The Sachems trailed 4-3 heading to the bottom of the fifth inning, but Peabody capitalized on some errors to score three runs in the inning.

Saugus’ Sofia McCarrier pitched 4 1/3 innings, giving up five hits and seven runs (4 ER), while Jenna O’Donnell pitched 1 2/3 innings, conceding one hit and one earned run.

“Both pitchers came through for us against a really strong Peabody team,” said Saugus coach Steve Almquist.

Alannah Duong batted 2-for-3 with a double, as well as a homer over the left-field fence.

“We go to Swampscott in a must-win game to get us into the tournament,” Almquist said. “I’m so proud of how the girls played today. They left it all out there.”

Despite a three-goal, one-assist performance from Tyler Forbes, the Magicians were conquered by the Vikings.

The Magicians improved to 17-2. TJ Kelly won at second singles and Alex Boehning at third singles. Adam Loughlin and Filip Wabno won their doubles match.

It was a tough matchup for the Magicians, who lost to Winchester (Div. 1).

“Winchester has a great chance of winning the Div. 1 state tournament this year,” said Marblehead coach Tracy Ackerman. “We knew going in that the tennis would be at a different level and we were not disappointed. I liked the attitude of our team. They were awed by the talent of Winchester and learned from their matches.”

It was a clean sweep for the Big Blue. Janielle De La Cruz and Eve Byrne took care of singles business, while Fiona Flebbe/Sophia Armstrong and Ava Sanchez/Katherine Demady cleaned up the doubles department.

The Pioneers (16-2) won their second consecutive Cape Ann League Baker Division championship and qualified for the state tournament for the 43rd consecutive year.

Lily Alves led the way at first singles. Kami Khiat won a close match at second singles, while Emma Wagon and Olivia Asaad clinched the victory at second doubles.
