DANVERS — The Marblehead field hockey team got its season off to a strong start with a 6-2 road win over the Danvers Falcons.

Marblehead scored in all four quarters and was led by junior Zoe Dwyer, who scored the Magicians’ first two goals in the opening quarter.

In the second quarter, senior Carolyn Black scored for the Magicians. Lily Desgrosseilliers netted her first varsity goal in her debut in the third quarter, according to Marblehead head coach Alison Carey.

Lucy Rogers and Keliane Salem each got on the scoresheet in the fourth quarter.

“We graduated 11 seniors from last year’s team, many of them key players on defense and offense,” Carey said. “These were big shoes to fill, and we took our time with evaluations this year. The wait was worth it. The team chemistry is strong. Our players are excited for the season and feeling ready to go.”

Marblehead is back in action Tuesday when it travels to take on Malden Catholic at 4 p.m.
