To the editor:
I am writing in support of Sarah Fox for election to the Marblehead School Committee.
As a Marblehead resident, the father of two children, and the husband of an educator in town, I care deeply about the future of our schools and the people who work tirelessly within them every day. That is why I will be voting for Sarah Fox.
I know Sarah personally, not only as a dedicated public servant, but as a mother, neighbor, and genuinely good person. In a time when public discourse can often become divisive and performative, Sarah has consistently demonstrated professionalism, integrity, and a commitment to doing what is best for students — even when the decisions are difficult.
Sarah’s record speaks for itself. She has served Marblehead with intelligence, transparency, and an extraordinary work ethic. Her experience on the Budget Subcommittee and her commitment to making public business truly public have helped create a more transparent process for residents and taxpayers alike. She understands the financial challenges facing our town, but she also understands that strong schools are one of the foundations of a strong community.
What stands out most to me is her ability to remain student-focused through every challenge. Sarah has repeatedly shown that she is willing to listen to everyone, engage respectfully with differing viewpoints, and make decisions based not on pressure or politics, but on what is genuinely best for children and families.
As the mother of six children and someone who stepped back from a successful professional career to focus on her family and community service, Sarah understands Marblehead from multiple perspectives — as a parent, volunteer, taxpayer, and leader. She has helped recruit and support strong school leadership and remains committed to the long-term success of the district as it develops a new strategic plan for the future.
Most importantly, I trust her completely. She is thoughtful, compassionate, hardworking, and deeply committed to this town and its students. In my opinion, Sarah Fox is exactly the kind of experienced, steady, and community-minded leadership Marblehead needs right now.
I hope the residents of Marblehead will join me in supporting Sarah Fox for School Committee.
Sincerely,
Hank Wright
Marblehead
