Chipotle is coming to Lynn Marketplace

LYNN — The Lynn Marketplace, located at 43 State St., will soon add a Chipotle Mexican Grill to its mix of fast-dining restaurants and businesses.

On the Brixmor Property Group site plan, the business pad opportunity sits in the parking lot of the shopping center, making it an extension to the currently existing building.

Chipotle will take the site’s PAD A2 spot, which means it “will be developed as an outparcel building,” a Brixmor Property Group spokesperson said.

The proposed building is currently listed for 2,400 sq. ft., and the Brixmor spokesperson shared that “the addition of Chipotle will complement the center’s existing tenant mix by adding another nationally recognized dining option for shoppers and the community.”

The current food businesses at the Lynn Marketplace include Stop & Compare, Pollo Campero, and Pizza Hut. This would cement the first-ever Chipotle in Lynn. The closest Chipotles currently reside in Swampscott, Saugus, Lynnfield, and Peabody.

With the proposed business opportunity being built onto the existing shopping center’s parking lot, parking for the soon-to-be 14 businesses could be a potential issue, and the Brixmor spokesperson shared that parking and traffic circulation are important considerations in any redevelopment project.

“Before moving forward with a project, we evaluate a variety of factors, including parking availability, customer access, traffic flow, and tenant needs to ensure the project is appropriate for the site,” the spokesperson said.

The traffic the Chipotle could bring to the marketplace, though, could create one more fast and convenient option for Lynners to enjoy.

“The addition of Chipotle will help drive customer traffic and repeat visits to Lynn Marketplace, creating additional visibility for the center’s retailers and services,” the spokesperson said.
