It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Master Sergeant Jared Emil Hazzard United States Air Force, whose life was defined by honor, integrity, and selfless service to our nation. He passed away Friday, July 31, 2026. He was 46 years old.
Master Sergeant Hazzard proudly served in the United States Air Force and Navy for 21 years of combined service and 18 years in the Jamesport Fire Department. He dedicated his military career to protecting our country while leading and mentoring countless Airmen along with keeping his home town safe. He was respected not only for his professionalism and unwavering commitment to excellence but also for his compassion, humility, and genuine care he showed to everyone around him.
Predeceased by his mother Audrey; he is survived by his wife Johana and son Samuel; father Robert of Riverhead; sisters Rebecca (Brian) of Riverhead and Helene (John) of Moriches, N.Y.
He will be remembered with military honors at Calverton National Cemetery Friday, Aug. 7 at 11:30 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, family and friends may honor Jared’s memory with a donation to Wounded Warrior Project.
