LYNN — Superintendent of Schools Dr. Molly Cohen has appointed Stephanie Clayman principal of Ingalls Elementary School. Clayman had been serving as interim principal since last July. Clayman has more than 25 years of service to Lynn Public Schools, all at Ingalls. She has a deep-rooted commitment to the school and its community.

“Stephanie has done an excellent job as interim principal,” Cohen said. “She has an unyielding commitment to students, families, and staff, and she emerged as clearly the right person for this position permanently.”

Clayman began her career as an elementary teacher and has held positions in leadership, including curriculum and instructional teacher and program specialist. Throughout her career, she has focused on elevating student achievement and ensuring that students meet or exceed grade-level standards.

A passionate advocate for instructional excellence, Clayman collaborates closely with educators to enhance teaching practices and design lessons that address the diverse needs of learners. Equally important to her is fostering strong relationships with families and the broader school community. She believes that meaningful family engagement and community partnerships are essential to student success, and she is committed to maintaining open, supportive communication with students, families, and staff.

“I appreciate the opportunity to work in this role at the school I love,” Clayman said. “I enjoy the partnership with our school community and look forward to continuing the collaboration and moving our school forward.”

Clayman earned both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in elementary education from Salem State University.
