Lynn Classical’s baseball team (8-5) rattled off its fourth consecutive win — and fifth in six games — with Wednesday’s 2-0 victory in Malden. Mark Walsh pitched all seven innings, allowing just three hits and four walks to go with eight strikeouts.
“Mark pitched great again. We have a great 1-2 punch with Walsh and (Braeden) Ohanessian,” said Classical coach Jason Rogato. “We have full confidence when they are on the mound. Walsh controlled the game and was able to get out of tough spots when needed.”
Doing offensive damage were Brayden Curley (3-for-3, 2 SB), Gavin Collins (1-for-3, double), and Colin Hart (1-for-3, RBI).
“Brayden Curley has had great at-bats lately. It was only a matter of time until he had a big game and that was today. Curley was seeing the ball great all day and made a nice play at second in the seventh,” Rogato said. “Our 7-8-9 batters led the way offensively with all of our hits today. It was a full team effort and great win.”

“There were a few plays today we would’ve loved to have back, but the guys did a great job moving on to the next play,” said Tech coach Eddie Lewis Sr. “Our only focus is getting better every day, regardless of the outcome.”

In the circle, Tessa Francis “was outstanding returning from an ankle injury,” according to Marblehead coach Johnny Gold. She allowed one run on four hits and struck out six batters. Nora Mahan (1-for-2, 2 RBI), Hailey Schmitt, and Grace Dow helped the cause.

Classical (11-4) played on enemy hardwood and returned home victorious through set scores of 25-9, 20-25, 25-12, and 25-21. Kenzel Lantano (26 assists, 5 kills, 10 digs, 4 aces), Jonathan Chan (12 kills, block), and Riches Tep (11 kills, 8 digs, ace) led the Rams’ charge.
“Any time you play a crosstown rival, it just feels different. The kids all know each other and want to beat each other,” said Classical coach Chris LeBlanc. “Jon was excellent all night. He was really working to make himself available and Kenzel found ways to get him the ball. Riches was also really good from the start tonight. A lot of credit to the English program as well — they competed all night.”
