Water main bursts on Lynn's Lewis Street

[ad_1]

LYNN —  Massachusetts Water Resources Authority crews gathered on Lewis Street to flush the water systems early Tuesday morning after a water-main break sent an approximately 30-foot geyser-like stream into the air, flooding the street.

The powerful stream, which occurred at approximately 6 a.m. near the intersection of Lewis Street at Wardwell Avenue, prompted police to block off a portion of the street as water iced over the road.

As of 11 a.m. Tuesday, crews were still on scene repairing the water main.
