You know what I’ve been thinking? Something really strong is brewing with Marblehead’s boys hockey team.
The Headers won another two games this week, making it six in a row and eight of their last 10. In the MIAA Division 3 Power Rankings, Marblehead shot up to No. 6 with its 8-8 record and 0.4 average margin of victory.
This past week was another dandy for coach Mark Marfione’s squad, especially Saturday’s tilt against Winthrop.
Let’s keep in mind that the Vikings are still ranked No. 1 in Division 4, and were unbeaten heading into the Marblehead game.
But thanks to goals from James Caeran (2), Avin Rodovsky, and Crew Monaco, alongside two assists from Kyle Hart, the Headers were the ones standing in the end, 4-1.
That wasn’t all, though. On Wednesday, Jan. 31, Marblehead defeated Masconomet at home, 5-4. Hart scored twice to go with two helpers, Hogan Sedky scored, and Leo Burdge picked up the win between the pipes.
Marblehead hosts Swampscott at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Will the Headers make it seven, or Big Blue play to their name?
Headers, good week.
