You know what I’ve been thinking? For three games – across just five nights – the Lynn English boys basketball team (15-3) showed off its explosive offense en route to three wins.
The Bulldogs’ biggest test came Friday against the Brockton Boxers. In a game that went down to the wire, English executed down the stretch to win, 84-79, on Senior Night.
Back to that word, ‘explosive.’ Pierre Veras, Carmelo Buese, Denzell Guillen, Pauwill Deng, Kyle Kemembin, and Josh Anderson all reached double-figures in scoring.
The night before on Thursday, English smoked Malden, 73-44, in a “great team effort” according to head coach Alvin Abreu. Buese led again, sporting 23 points, eight rebounds, five steals, and three assists.
The win gave English back-to-back Greater Boston League titles.
The week also came with a showdown against Revere, one the Bulldogs won with ease, 77-45. Do-it-all Veras recorded a monster double-double of 19 points and 18 rebounds.
In Tuesday morning’s MIAA Division 1 power rankings, the Maroon and White checked in at No. 31, just one spot behind Peabody.
Bulldogs, keep winning those dog fights.
