SWAMPSCOTT — The Select Board voted unanimously to appoint one new member each to both the Recreation Commission and Water and Sewer Infrastructure Advisory Committee. The Zoning Board of Appeals also had one member appointed to a regular position and one to an associate position.
Select Board and Recreation Commission member Danielle Leonard announced resident Cynthia Flannery as the newest commission member. Leonard asserted that Flannery was the best-suited person for the role after discussion with Commission Chair Jill Susarrey. Flannery will serve a one-year term that expires on June 30, 2025. She can later be re-elected to a three-year term if she chooses.
Leonard also serves as the Zoning Board of Appeals liaison, and recommended resident Michelle Graham and Anthony Sanchez for the regular and associate positions respectively.
Select Board member David Grishman is the Water and Sewer Infrastructure Advisory Committee liaison, and recommended alternate member Matthew Pelland transition from an alternate member to a regular member. Pelland’s term will also expire next June.
“I’ve discuss with Liz Smith, who is the chair of the Water and Sewer Infrastructure Advisory Committee, and it’s her recommendation and I support it,” Grishman said.
