GIRLS SOCCER

Sept. 4 Mount Sinai 7, M/S/G 2

The visiting Tuckers (1-1, 0-1) dropped their first game of the season to the Mustangs (1-0, 1-0). MSG’s Devin Stanton, who has four goals in two matches, tallied twice in the second half. Goalkeeper Hunter Mackey made eight saves. Mount Sinai grabbed a 4-0 halftime lead.

Sept. 8 Greenport 9, Bridgehampton 0

Juan Vivas Flores recorded a hat-trick for the Porters (1-0-1, 1-0-0) in their League VI home opener against Bridgehampton (0-2-0, 0-2-0). Jesus Rios contributed two goals and an assist. Jordan Martinez added two goals. Luis Morales finished with a goal and two assists. Goalkeeper Walter Tzun Zarate made three saves for the shutout.

On Sept. 3, Greenport overcame a one-goal halftime deficit to register a 2-2 non-league draw in their season opener at Miller Place. Jesus Rios found the net for the visitors. Juan Vivas Flores also had an assist. Greenport goalkeeper Walter Tzun Zarate produced seven saves.
