SAUGUS — The School Committee unanimously approved $14,566.10 in donations for the school district from a variety of organizations at a meeting.

First on the docket was a $8,480 grant from the One8 Foundation. The funds will go toward Saugus Middle School’s Open SciEd program, which provides resources for continued scientific education.

The American Heart Association donated $350 for the Kids Heart Challenge, an annual challenge promoting activity for cardiac health at the Belmonte STEAM Academy.

The Belmonte STEAM Academy also received a donation from Vision Inc., doing business as O’Connor Studios, for $1,777.90.

Legacy Studios gave a donation of $2,243.70 to help with Saugus High School’s senior-yearbook efforts and another $1,214.50, to help with Saugus Middle School’s memory-book efforts.

Special Olympics Massachusetts also donated $500 in support of Unified Athletics, aiding in the robustness of the basketball and strength and conditioning programs at Saugus High School.

Committee Chair Vincent Serino read off the donations and gifts to the school system, and said he was thankful for them.

“Charity knows no end,” Serino said.

The donations were approved by a vote of 4-0, as Vice Chair Thomas Whittredge was absent.
