Ava Buckley scored the first goal of the season off an assist from Eleni Spack, and the Peabody-Lynnfield-North Reading girls hockey team (1-0) never stopped en route to a 4-0 win against Beverly at Endicott College.
Buckley scored again to put the visitors ahead, 2-0, off assists from Daniella White and Abby McInerney (goal). Returning goalie Alyse Mutti recorded 29 saves for PLNR.

Against a strong Masconomet program, visiting Marblehead (0-1) fell in its first game of the season, 4-3. Ava Shultz, Madi Graber, and Emma Johnson slotted ones for the Magicians, who return to action Thursday in a home game against Gloucester at 5 p.m.
BOYS HOCKEY
Triton 4
Lynnfield 3
Despite versatile scoring and a few sharp finishes, Lynnfield (0-1) fell in a revenge game against Triton – dating back to last season’s state tournament loss against the Vikings.
In the 4-3 overtime loss at home, Jack Carpenter, Evan Rocha, and Aiden Norton scored the Pioneers’ goals. Joe Raffa, Jake Connell, Tim Sullivan, and Nick Kelter dished out assists.
Everett 9
Peabody-Saugus 6
Talk about offense. Despite two goals from Mike Ryan, three points from Ryan Jones, and another two from Artie O’Leary, Peabody-Saugus (0-1) fell to Everett, 9-6, on Saturday. Evan Tybinkowski stood strong between the pipes with 42 saves.
