For the first time since 2022, the Lynn Tech/KIPP Academy girls cross country team captured the Commonwealth Athletic Conference championship. The program, helmed by coach John Hogan, defeated Mystic Valley, 16-43, at home on Thursday.

Lynn English (4-2) went into halftime with a 12-0 cushion, but let the second half get away in Medford.

In a first half that was full of flags, the Bulldogs opened the scoring with a 3-yard rushing touchdown from Xavier Beauchamp (6-0). He rushed for another touchdown to double the lead with 1:12 remaining in the second quarter.

With 3:23 remaining in the third, Justin Marino connected with Samuel Dieuestil for a 35-yard touchdown to tie the game (12-12).

Guess who, Beauchamp (11 carries, 88 yards), scored a 15-yard rushing touchdown to put English ahead in the fourth quarter, but that would be the last time English found the endzone. Prince Exavier of the Mustangs scored a 23-yard touchdown with less than eight minutes to go, followed by a go-ahead two-point conversion.
