Not one, not two, not three, but four times, Bentley’s Niya Morgen has been named Northeast-10 Conference Rookie of the Week in women’s basketball.
The former St. Mary’s Spartan averaged 10.5 points and two rebounds in a perfect week (2-0) for the Division 2 Falcons. She made seven of 11 shots and recorded zero turnovers across 43 minutes.
Morgen, of Swampscott, also leads the NE10 in three-point percentage (.545).
“The success Niya is having at the next level is a testament to her hard work on and off the court,” said St. Mary’s girls basketball coach Jeff Newhall, who won two state championships with Morgen in 2022 and 2023. “She is excelling in school and on the court, which is really not a surprise to those of us who know her well.”
