Peabody to remember Honor Roll veterans

[ad_1]

PEABODY — The city is reaching out to the public seeking information about the veterans who are memorialized on the city’s Honor Roll plaque in preparation for this year’s Veteran’s Day observance and breakfast.

In 2024, the Honor Roll plaque was restored (see finished plaque above) and will be moved to the corner of Washington Street and Allens Lane. Rousselot graciously gave the Peabody Historical Commission the plaque so it could be preserved and displayed in perpetuity.

This was no small undertaking. It required the combined efforts of:

  • Members of the Peabody Historical Commission
  • Peabody Veteran’s Agent, Steve Patten, who funded the restoration
  • The Peabody Historical Society
  • The Peabody DPW
  • The City of Peabody
  • Other important, knowledgeable volunteers, like Dave Cronin and Bob Langley, along with countless others

On Nov. 11, the City of Peabody Veterans Services Department will be holding its annual breakfast at City Hall’s Wiggin Auditorium. Doors open at 8:30 a.m. At this event, the service of those veterans on the Honor Roll plaque will be recognized.

Anyone who knows or is related to these veterans is encouraged to reach out to Veterans Service Agent Steve Patten at Steve. [email protected] to share their stories.
