Peabody Little League announces change in Majors tryouts

[ad_1]

Peabody Little League will hold tryouts for the Majors Division from spring to fall, beginning this year. Tryouts will be held on Saturday, September 26 and Sunday, September 29.

In a Facebook post by the PLL Board of Directors announcing the change, the board stated that, “This decision has been made with careful consideration and planning, and was unanimously supported by the board of directors. We believe this change will bring several key benefits to our players – and the league – as a whole.”

The post went on to cite the many benefits fall tryouts will bring to the PLL program, starting with extended training and development.

“By holding tryouts in the fall, we will provide our players with more time to train and develop their skills before the spring season begins,” the post stated. “This extended period allows coaches to work closely with players, focusing on areas for improvement and helping each child reach their full potential.”

Other major benefits are enhanced team chemistry and player safety, according to the board.

“With teams established earlier, players and coaches can spend more time together, building stronger relationships and a cohesive team dynamic,” the post went on to say. “The additional preparation time and structured practice sessions leading up to the season can contribute to better physical conditioning and readiness, potentially reducing the risk of injuries.”

PLL said it will share more information about this fall’s tryouts in the coming weeks.

“We will share more-detailed information about the specific tryout information in the coming weeks,” the post stated. “We encourage all families to keep an eye out for these communications and mark their calendars accordingly. We understand that this change may require some adjustment, and we appreciate your support and flexibility. Our goal is to provide the best possible experience for our players and families, and we are confident that this change will be a positive step in that direction.”

The board encourages anyone with questions or concerns to reach out to PLL. A list of league contacts can be found on PLL’s website, www.peabody little league.org.

Interested parties can also reach out by mail at Peabody Little League, Post Office Box 683, Peabody, MA 01960, or by email: [email protected].

“We look forward to an exciting and successful season ahead,” the statement said in conclusion.

PLL did not respond to numerous requests for additional comment.
