New faces for Peabody girls soccer, field hockey

PEABODY — Katrina Silva (girls soccer) and Kimberly Frank (field hockey) will be head coaches at Peabody High this fall, announced by Athletic Director Dennis Desroches.

Silva (PVMHS ’16) was a girls soccer captain and All-Northeastern Conference player for the Tanners. From there, she suited up at Delaware State University, where she was a four-year starter and two-year captain.

She has coached locally at youth, high school, and select team levels.

“Katrina has great passion and dedication, not only for soccer, but also for Peabody High School,” Desroches said. “She has great work ethic and motivation, as demonstrated when she was a four-year player for me, to help build upon and continue the success of our program. She is a great addition to our soccer program, athletics department, and school.”

Frank, a member of the guidance department and former college athlete, has coached Peabody’s sub-varsity field hockey team for 10 years.

She looks forward to partnering with boosters, as well as growing player participation and community visibility, according to Desroches.

“Kimberly was an assistant coach for PVMHS girls lacrosse for many years and involved in many girls youth sports,” Desroches said. “I’ve worked with Kimberly for 25 years and am excited she will take on this role as head coach of the field hockey program. Kimberly will lead with the positivity and enthusiasm she has for the sport — especially for the success of our student-athletes.”
