MARBLEHEAD — Niche.com’s annual ranking of the top 50 high schools in the Commonwealth was released, with Marblehead High School taking the 50th spot.
Marblehead Public Schools Superintendent John Robidoux said in an email to The Item that it is a “great thing,” adding that the ranking is “due to our hard working staff, the efforts of our students and the support of the parents and caregivers” at the school.
Zach Chatham, public relations manager for Niche, said that this years’ rankings are its 11th, and are determined by multiple metrics and data sources.
The ratings are determined by user input, which includes current students, alumni, and parents.
Additionally, Niche pulls data from the U.S. Department of Education to further evaluate “teachers, resources, facilities, extracurricular activities and more,” Chatham said.
Chatham said that the “comprehensive approach” the company uses assesses a “well-rounded perspective on educational institutions across the country.”
Robidoux said that as superintendent, his focus is and will continue to be “ensuring that students are provided the appropriate supports and resources to succeed.”
