LYNN — A dead 68-year-old male was found in a car at the parking lot of the closed Shaw’s on State Street at 6:09 a.m. Friday, according to Police Lt. Paul Cotter.
The Police Department is waiting to release the name of individual until the next of kin is notified.
The cause of death is still being determined by the chief medical examiner, but at this point in the investigation there are no signs of foul play, according to Cotter. He added that upon initial conclusions, it is suspected that the dead body had been in the parking lot for two to three days.
Cotter said it is an ongoing investigation that will be led by the Essex County District Attorney’s Office.
