Lynn Fire Department quickly extinguishes brush fire, again

[ad_1]

LYNN — The Fire Department received a report of brush fires in the woods behind Fays Avenue shortly before 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday.

The department quickly knocked down the few brush fires in the area. Similar to brush fires across the region, the fire has burrowed underground into the roots and can flare up due to the wind and heat conditions.

The fire department has been working with the Salem Fire Department to battle brush fires in the area since the end of October.

The Lynn FD first assisted the Salem FD with a “large-scale” brush fire in the woods in the Fay Estate neighborhood Oct. 26.

Within a week, the FD responded to a report of a brush fire in the area on Oct. 31.

The fire department said it has been monitoring brush fires in the area during the drought.
