LYNN — The Department of Public Works is charged with maintaining all of the city’s parks and playgrounds, roadway and sidewalk construction, and snowplowing, among other tasks. In order to provide those services, the DPW needs to keep its trucks running, with mechanics playing a key role.
The DPW is actively seeking mechanics who have the skills to perform repairs and maintenance of motor equipment, as well as snow, ice, and grass-cutting equipment. A Massachusetts Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class B with Airbrakes is required within six months of hire, if not already obtained. Preference will be given to applicants who possess valid CDL Class B/Hoisting licenses.
“There is a critical need for qualified mechanics to maintain our fleet of city vehicles. These are union jobs with excellent benefits including health, dental, vision, pension, and paid time off. We hope interested candidates will visit our website and apply to join the city’s team,” Personnel Director Drew Russo said.
