To the editor:
Rep. Seth Moulton recently said, “Democrats spend way too much time trying not to offend anyone rather than being brutally honest about the challenges many Americans face. I have two little girls; I don’t want them getting run over on a playing field by a male or formerly male athlete, but as a Democrat, I’m supposed to be afraid to say that.”
I agree, and I am a very left-leaning voter. Even after hormone therapy or surgeries, transgender athletes often retain physical advantages. Their hands don’t shrink, their feet don’t get smaller, and their height doesn’t change. This isn’t an attack on transgender individuals; it’s a matter of fairness.
I can identify as Abraham Lincoln, but no one is going to call me “Mr. President.” Democrats need to focus on broader, more impactful issues instead of getting bogged down in topics like pronouns—another political dead end.
Sincerely,
Bill Morrill
