DANVERS — Healing Abuse Working for Change will host its annual Breakfast to Heal event on Oct. 3 at Danversport, from 7 to 9 a.m. for a morning of recognition, inspiration, and solidarity in the fight against abuse.

At this year’s breakfast, HAWC will present its Community Award to the Women’s Fund of Essex County. The award recognizes an organization whose exceptional dedication and impact have significantly advanced the cause of ending abuse and supporting survivors on the North Shore.

Women’s Fund Co-Chairs Trish Moore and Wendy Roworth will receive the award for demonstrating unwavering commitment, remarkable leadership, and tangible results in fostering a safer and more supportive environment for all.

In addition, the Dale Orlando Memorial Award will be bestowed upon Megan Sweeney, founder of PowerUP! This accolade honors an individual whose personal efforts have made a profound difference in the lives of survivors and the broader community. Sweeney has shown extraordinary compassion, innovative problem-solving, and steadfast resolve in addressing the complexities of abuse.

The event will also feature a keynote address from a survivor. She will share her personal story, offering a poignant reminder of the resilience of the human spirit and the vital importance of continued support and advocacy.
