LYNN — Girls Inc. of Boston and Lynn announced in a press release that it recently integrated with the Boston chapter of Strong Women, Strong Girls (SWSG).

SWSG is a nonprofit organization “dedicated to empowering girls and young women through mentorship and skill-building programs,” according to the release. It was founded in 2000 as a student organization at Harvard University with the goal of supporting “under-resourced communities through innovative, multigenerational mentoring programs.”

This expansion helps Girls Inc. increase its impact in the Commonwealth, especially the Boston area, and strengthens the organization’s own mission of “inspiring all girls to be strong, smart, and bold,” according to the release. Girls Inc. will integrate SWSG’s programming for grades three to five into its offerings for middle- and high-school students. This will expand mentorship opportunities and provide a wider range of leadership, confidence, and academic programs to young women across the region.

By joining forces, we are well-positioned to support the new generation of strong, smart, and bold girls.”
