[ad_1]

WASHINGTON Darguin Fortuna became the first architect born in the Dominican Republic to be honored with the 2024 Young Architect Award from the American Institute of Architects.

The award recognized his “exceptional leadership, significant contributions to the architecture profession, and dedication to environmental advocacy and mentorship,” according to a press release.

Fortuna earned his architecture certification in 2018 at Boston Architectural College. There, he received several honors, including the American Institute of Architects’ Certificate of Merit and the Dean Arcangelo Cascieri Scholarship, according to a press release from Flow Design Architects.

Since obtaining his certification, Fortuna has expanded his work across New England and New York.

“Darguin Fortuna’s dedication to the field of architecture and his innovative spirit make him a deserving recipient of the Young Architect Award,” Boston Society of Architects President Andrea Love said. “His contributions have not only enriched the architectural community but also set a benchmark for future generations.”

“Darguin’s passion for architecture and his unwavering commitment to excellence are evident in every project he undertakes,” CBT Architects President David Nagahiro said. “He is an exceptional leader and a true inspiration for all aspiring architects.”
