Kepa eyes permanent Real Madrid move

Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga has spoken about their desire to stay with Real Madrid beyond the current season.

The Spain international joined Los Blancos on a season-long loan from the Blues this week. The deal does not include a buy option.

However, the 28-year-old remains optimistic that he can persuade the club to buy him with his performances on the field.

He said during his presentation: “I really hope Real Madrid will keep me at the end of the season. The decision has been very easy.”

“I had other important offers but Real Madrid is Real Madrid. When Real Madrid wanted me everything was clear.”

Aside from Madrid, Bayern Munich were also interested in signing the Spaniard, but his stance changed as soon as the former approached him.

Arrizabalaga is expected to play a key role for the Spanish giants in the coming months with Thibaut Courtois out with a serious knee injury.

The Belgian will ultimately return in goal for Carlo Ancelotti‘s side, but Arrizabalaga appears prepared to accept a deputy role for the future.
