Bridgewell announces 2026 gala honorees

SAUGUS — Bridgewell, a nonprofit social and human services organization serving northeastern Massachusetts, announced on Monday that Elaine White, chief operating officer at Bridgewell, and Cornerstone Construction and its CEO Joseph Fodera and COO Melaney Fodera will be recognized at its 2026 Imagine the Possibilities Gala.

White will receive the Visionary Leadership Award, and Cornerstone Construction and the Foderas will receive the Excellence in Service Award.

“It is hard to imagine Bridgewell without Elaine; the impact of her 45 years of invaluable service and excellence will be forever felt throughout the organization,” said Christopher Tuttle, president and CEO of Bridgewell. “We are also so grateful to Joseph and Melaney Fodera, and the Cornerstone Construction team, for their longstanding support of Bridgewell’s mission, their partnership in our work, and their commitment to giving back.”

White said, “I’m deeply honored to receive the Visionary Leadership Award. When I started at Bridgewell more than 45 years ago as a direct support professional, I could have never imagined the journey ahead. What has kept me here is the incredible people — those we support, their families, and the dedicated staff who bring compassion and purpose to this work every day. As I prepare to retire, I feel immense pride in the community we have built together and great confidence in the future of our mission.”

White, a Saugus resident, will be honored for extraordinary service to Bridgewell and for making a lasting impact on the organization, staff, and individuals served. Over four decades ago, she was hired by Bridgewell as a direct support professional and has since held positions across the organization, including, most notably, COO. White will retire in July, bringing her tenure at Bridgewell to a close. As COO, she leads the day-to-day operations of the organization’s entire services portfolio. White has also served on various boards of directors, including the Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS program, the North Shore HOME Consortium, and as President of the Lynn Continuum of Care and Massachusetts Bay Self Insurance Group boards.

Melaney Fodera, left, chief operating officer at Cornerstone Construction, and Joseph Fodera, CEO of Cornerstone Construction, will be awarded Bridgwell’s Excellence in Service Award.

“Receiving the Excellence in Service Award from Bridgewell truly means a great deal to us,” said the Foderas. “For the past decade, this partnership has never just been about construction; it’s been about serving people well. Cornerstone Construction and Bridgewell’s visions are aligned; we are creating meaningful spaces for those who need them most. We are grateful for the trust Bridgewell has placed in us, and we look forward to many more years of collaboration.”

Cornerstone Construction and the Foderas will be recognized for their outstanding support of Bridgewell, making a positive difference in their community, and inspiring others to do the same. The Lynnfield-based construction company has partnered with Bridgewell over the past 16 years to build and renovate many key Bridgewell properties, including its newly opened medical group residence in Groveland. The Foderas have also provided philanthropic support to Bridgewell over the years, in addition to their support of many other local organizations.

The nonprofit’s signature fundraising event is an opportunity to celebrate the achievements of Bridgewell and the individuals it serves over the past year, to recognize and thank its partners and supporters, and to raise funding for its behavioral health, day habilitation, employment, housing, and addiction recovery programs.

Bridgewell’s Imagine the Possibilities Gala and fundraiser will be held on Friday, April 17, at the Renaissance Boston Seaport District Hotel, and it is open to the public. The event will include a cocktail reception, dinner program, silent/online auction, and live Fund-a-Need auction. Sponsorship information, tickets, and additional details are available at bridgewell.org/donate/gala/.
