The Massachusetts Department of Transportation announced that it will be performing overnight construction with temporary lane shifts on Lynnfield Street (Route 129) from Great Woods Road to Broadway in Lynn.
The overnight construction and lane shifts are scheduled to start at 8 p.m. Monday and continue until 5 a.m. Saturday. The construction and lane shifts will occur each evening between 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. One lane of travel in each direction will be maintained at all times.
The temporary lane shifts are necessary to allow the contractor to safely and effectively perform pavement milling, excavation, and other incidental items of work.
Safety signs, traffic control devices, and police details will be used to guide drivers through the work zone. Drivers traveling through the affected areas should expect delays, reduce speed, and use caution.
Appropriate signage, law enforcement details, and advanced message boards will be in place to guide drivers through the work area.
All scheduled work is weather-dependent and/or may be impacted due to an emergency.
