You know what I’ve been thinking? One of the more athletic and entertaining players on the North Shore plays basketball at Lynn Tech, and there was no stopping him this past weekend.
Ederick Gonzalez led his Tigers to back-to-back state vocational titles. Tech defeated Monty Tech Friday, followed by Sunday’s victory against Shawsheen.
Against Monty Tech, the big man scored 18 points to go with nine assists and three rebounds. The Tigers won the game, 71-55.
Two days later, in a 46-40 win against Shawsheen, he recorded a double-double (11 points, 10 rebounds, 3 assists).
Some players score, others rebound, assist, defend, and so forth. But for the Tigers, Gonzalez – more often than not – does all of those things on a nightly basis.
Tech, ranked No. 8 in Division 4, plays the winner of Tuesday’s matchup between No. 25 Northbridge and No. 40 Southwick.
Ederick, good week.
