Lynn, Peabody, and State Police arrested 18-year-old Delvin Sanchez for his alleged role in the shooting that severely injured three outside a Pizza Hut on State Street in Lynn on Dec. 26.
Sanchez was located at a Peabody address on Wednesday, where law-enforcement officers executed his arrest warrant, charging him with armed assault to murder, accessory before the fact, and accessory after the fact.
In the days following two separate shootings that occurred on State and Camden streets in Lynn last week, personnel from the Lynn Police Department Criminal Investigation Division, Gang Unit, and Patrol divisions partnered with both state and federal law-enforcement agencies to add “significant resources” to these investigations and increased patrols in the city, the Lynn Police Department said.
“We recognize the trauma that these reprehensible acts of gun violence have caused to the families of the victims and to our entire community,” Lynn Police Chief Christopher Reddy said. “I am grateful for the tireless work and dedicated efforts by members of the Lynn Police Department, the Massachusetts State Police, and other partner agencies that resulted in the arrest of this individual. However, our work is not done and we remain steadfast in our determination to pursue these investigations until all those responsible for this violence are brought to justice.”
Police are asking anyone with information about either shooting to contact the Lynn Police Department at 781-595-2000.
Lynn Police added that over a span of five days, four separate arrests were made of individuals who illegally possessed a firearm, bringing the number of firearms seized in the city in 2023 to a total of 57.
