Gerald Flatley


Gerald Flatley, 84, of West Palm Beach, Fla. passed away Sept. 14, 2026. He was born in Greenport on Jan. 17, 1942 to William and Gertrude Flatley. Gerald was the oldest of five children.

Gerald lived in Greenport for over 45 years. He and his wife Cecilia raised their children, William, Debbie and Michelle in Greenport. He was a boat captain for over 20 years at the Long Island Oyster Farms. He then worked at the Greenport Power Plant for many years before retiring to Florida. 

It is in Greenport, where he met and married the love of his life, Cecilia. With her by his side, they created a home and provided all that was needed for their three children.  Gerald loved family gatherings, which brought him great joy. After his years in Greenport, he moved to Florida and took on his next role of being Pop to his four grandchildren, which also brought him joy.

Gerald was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Cecilia. He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Marylou and Nancy.

He is survived by his three children: William (Leanne), Debbie (Kevin), Michelle (Randy); his grandchildren: Daniel, Conor, Kristen and Keegan; and his sister, Patricia Lenox, and brother, Lawrence Flatley. 

At the request of Gerald, there will be a private interment.
