Fire at Goldberg’s Famous Bagels temporarily closes Mattituck Plaza businesses

A fire in a storage room at Goldberg’s Famous Bagels in Mattituck Plaza on Monday temporarily closed multiple businesses.

Firefighters from several departments responded, but Southold police said the building’s sprinkler system primarily extinguished the fire.

Vintage Mattituck Wine and Liquor, located next door to the bagel shop, was forced to close after smoke and water entered the storefront, officials said.

This story will be updated as more information becomes available.
