Southold Town police responded to 61 reported incidents between July 20 and July 27, including the following.

• An officer on bike patrol July 20 observed two “highly intoxicated” men on Adams Street who were in possession of a bottle of Nikolai vodka about 12:15 p.m. Both were issued tickets to appear in Greenport Village court. One man’s degree of intoxication led to his being transported to the hospital for detox by the Greenport Fire Department.
• On July 20, police received multiple calls about a female yelling at beachgoers and construction workers in the area of West St. in Cutchogue. When officers spoke with her, she said she was upset that the park district had approved construction of a shed for the lifeguard stands. She left the area without incident and was advised not to return.
• On July 21, a Greenport man reported the theft of a black Priority Onyx bicycle from the side of his Main Street residence. He gave responding officers a number of specific identifying characteristics and said the bike was equipped with an Apple Air Tag, but the battery was unfortunately dead and giving no signal.
• A Greenport resident called police July 22 about 1:15 p.m. to report that an unknown motorized scooter was left unattended in her shared driveway between 7 and 7:30 a.m. None of the other shared driveway users were able to identify its owner, which police determined to be a man from Hudson, Mass., for whom all available phone numbers were out of service. Officers advised the complainant that she could have the vehicle towed at her own expense.
• Mattituck neighbors got into a dispute about a large rock placed on the property line between them. The neighbor who placed the rock said she did so to prevent the others from driving over her grass while exiting their driveway. After consulting a land surveyor the neighbors’ landlord move the rock back to the first neighbor’s property. She then said she would also consult her own surveyor for confirmation to avoid future conflicts.
• An Orient man came to headquarters July 24 to report seeing a vehicle in the King Kullen parking lot with the numbers “8647” painted on its rear window. Police determined that the vehicle was registered to a Greenport resident and notified detectives.
• On July 24, a Southold resident called police to report a vehicle occupied by a man passed out behind the wheel in the area of Main Bayview Road and Waterview Terrace, noting that the man then awoke and headed north on Main Bayview. The responding officer located the vehicle, which then turned south on South Harbor Road and proceeded at a high rate of speed, eventually striking a guard rail and a chain link fence and coming to rest in th sand. The driver exited the car and tried to run but was apprehended. The driver, Henry Fuentes of Sound Beach, 25, was determined at the scene to be intoxicated, was arrested for alleged DWI, transported to headquarters and held for arraignment.
• A green and black Kawasaki ATV valued at more than $29,000 was reported missing from a residence on Sound Avenue in Mattituck July 25, having last been seen sometime between Wednesday and Friday. The reporting party had suspicions about possible culprits but no proof and it was confirmed that the vehicle had not been repossessed. A larceny affidavit was completed and detectives were alerted.
• On July 26 about 5:30 p.m. an officer observed a vehicle strike a parked car on Front Street in Greenport, after which the driver stepped out of the vehicle, almost falling as she did so, and leaving the car running. The officer noted the odor of an alcoholic beverage and noted that the driver had bloodshot and glassy eyes. After field sobriety tests indicated signs of impairment, 51-year-old Stephanie Kearney of Brooklyn was arrested for alleged DWI, transported to police headquarters for processing and held for arraignment.

Those who are named in police reports have not been convicted of any crime or violation. The charges against them may later be reduced or withdrawn, or they may be found innocent.
