PEABODY — Downtown event venue Olio has introduced a new, all-inclusive package built around affordability, convenience, and intimate gatherings.

Dubbed the Matinee Package, the new offering reimagines the traditional wedding experience by combining nearly every major expense into one flat fee. Designed for up to 50 guests and available on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays, the package costs $16,300 and includes the venue, planning, catering, open bar, photography, DJ, officiant, florals, and decor.

Owner Sarah Narcus said the idea came after watching couples become increasingly cautious about spending over the past two years. The package reflects what Narcus calls the rise of the “smart luxury” couple: people who still want a beautiful, high-end wedding but are placing greater value on financial flexibility, intentional celebrations, and a less stressful planning process.

For Olio, that meant simplifying the experience.

Instead of spending months researching vendors, comparing prices, and coordinating timelines, couples book one package that includes an established team of professionals. The only major decisions left are personal touches, like attire and invitations.

“This is going to be a really nice fit for people who want an easy button,” Narcus said. “Like, ‘OK, just plan my wedding for me.’”

The weekday format also opens the door for couples who don’t want to wait years for a coveted Saturday wedding date.

Located inside the restored former theater at 43 Main St., Olio has hosted weddings and events since 2019, blending the building’s historic architecture with modern event design. The venue will continue offering its traditional, customizable wedding packages alongside the new option.

Narcus said recent interest in the package has been encouraging, with tours already underway as couples explore a wedding option that trades excess for ease.

“What I’m finding is that people are really, really grateful just to know that they don’t have to spend their whole year’s salary… and can still have a fun, complete wedding,” she said.
