DANVERS — Featuring 10 boys teams, eight girls teams, and 38 total events, Friday’s Northeastern Conference track and field championships were a success at Danvers High.
Masconomet (153 points) won the boys title, followed by Marblehead (122) and Peabody (97.50). Peabody and Masconomet (131) were crowned girls champions.
Marblehead’s Marrietta O’Connell was a double winner in the mile (5:23.35) and 2-mile (11:28.96), as was Lucy Flynn in the 100-meter (12.48) and 200-meter (25.55). Also for the Magicians, Colin Hart won the 400-meter hurdles (56.48) and Clark Roszell took the high jump (6-2).
Peabody’s Avani Ingham won the triple jump (36-2) and 400-meter race (1:00.97). Madison Holleran won the discus (107-3) and shot put (34-9), while Matthew Dresser, too, won the shot put with a throw of 44-7.50.
As for Swampscott, Anthony Colella (4:32.66) won the mile, Annabelle Averett (2:19.29) took the 800-meter, and Alexandra Reames recorded a 4-10 high jump.
The Saugus duo of Destiny Okoye and Victoria Silva Santos recorded 4-10 high jumps. Teammate Kaeleb Mathieu took third in long jump (20-8.75), while Peyton DiBiasio finished second in javelin (106-0).
