Magic was in the air at Lynn English High Friday night. For the first time in boys or girls volleyball history at the school, the Bulldogs are state tournament bound.
With a 3-0 win against Salem, the English boys (10-7) punched their ticket to the Div. 1 dance. It was also Senior Night as captains Solomon Srey and Axel Phat led the charge, according to coach Liz D’Amico.
“This team has a lot of heart,” D’Amico said. “We have a talented team in which every game they play, they leave it all on the court.”
With victories against Everett, Georgetown, and Chelsea earlier this month, the Bulldogs have won four of their last six matches. As of Friday’s power rankings, they checked in at No. 55 of 71 teams.
