LYNN — Cheers erupted as members of Touchstone celebrated the expansion of their new office on the fourth floor of 85 Exchange Street with an official ribbon-cutting ceremony.

The award-winning law firm is now the largest in Lynn and was honored by Mayor Jared Nicholson, as well as Ward 4 City Councillor Natasha Megie-Maddrey, Ward 5 Councillor Cardeliz Paez, and representatives from the state delegation with official citations. commemorate this special occasion.

In 2025, Touchstone Closing merged with Cherry Tree Legal, a monumental move that brought renowned attorney partners Brendan L. Ward and Daniel F. Cahill together to lead the firm into a new era with a dedicated team serving the North Shore.

“Brendan and Dan are treasured members of this community. It’s a wonderful opportunity to see their practice grow in service of our residents, their clients, and businesses. On behalf of the City of Lynn, we congratulate you and wish you the best of luck,” Nicholson said with a smile before shaking both of their hands.

Ward said the expansion “reflects both the growth of our firm and our long-term commitment to the Lynn community, beyond our work with clients.”

He added, “Our team is actively involved on local boards and organizations that support Lynn families and the future of both Lynn and the surrounding communities, and we see Lynn as a hub of opportunity, and we’re proud to continue investing here, both as an organization, as well as all of our attorneys personally investing in the community as well.”

The grand opening of their new office in Lynn “reflects the energy and momentum that we see in Lynn, and also that we at Touchstone as a company have focused on,” added Ward.

He said he has extensive experience in estate planning for both families, leaders, and same-sex couples and has served as a board member for the Lynn Boys and Girls Club, which honored both him and Cahill with hand-signed cards that were gifted to them during the ceremony.

Cahill has over a decade of experience in real estate, land use, and zoning law. He has held roles, including as a former assistant district attorney in Essex County and the president of the Lynn City Council.

“The Lynn City Council acknowledges your accomplishments, dedication to the community, and overall excellence serves as an inspiration for others to follow,” said Paez.

For Touchstone, this is just the beginning. The same celebratory energy that filled the room at the grand-opening ceremony is the same enthusiasm they bring to each of their clients at closings, confetti cannons and all.
