Healthy Saugus in search of volunteers

SAUGUS — Healthy Students – Healthy Saugus is currently in search of volunteers for the 2026-27 school year to help keep Saugus students fed.

The nonprofit is looking for a volunteer bag assembly coordinator, a volunteer purchasing coordinator, and a volunteer fundraising coordinator or team.

The bag assembly coordinator helps ensure students receive their weekly food support.

The coordinator would oversee the food bag assembly process, coordinate volunteers for packing food bags weekly, and organize driver volunteers for school drop-offs. It would be approximately a one-hour time commitment weekly on Thursdays, typically in the evening.

The purchasing coordinator would keep the pantry stocked with food by doing inventory on food pantry supplies, purchase and restock food items, and ensure shelves are replenished for ongoing needs. It is a monthly time commitment with a flexible schedule.

The fundraising coordinator or team would support the mission through creative fundraising. Their job would include developing and leading fundraising initiatives, coordinating grants, food drives, and campaigns, and bringing fresh ideas to grow community support. The time commitment is flexible with one-time events or ongoing projects.
