In the Division 4 Elite 8, Lynn Tech’s boys basketball team met its match at Nipmuc High in Upton. The No. 7 Tigers were defeated 59-28 by No. 2 Millbury.
Coach Corey Bingham and his Tigers bowed out with a record of 15-8. They reached the Elite 8 for the third consecutive season.
“This group of seniors will be missed,” stated the school on social media.
Tech — which took down Amesbury and Manchester-Essex in previous rounds — trailed by a manageable 11 points at halftime, but was outscored 33-13 from there. Ryan Nikiforow (21 points) and Jimmer Donnelly (12) led Millbury.
