SAUGUS — The Saugus Youth Cheer Team is seeking fundraising help to send its girls to the Nationals in Florida this December.
“Our U12B Sachems have placed second in New England and will be taking on Nationals in Florida,” the team posted on Facebook.
The team, which consists of 34 girls ages 11 to 13, will have a pep rally and Nationals sendoff on Sunday at Saugus Middle High School.
To help pay for the trip, the team looked for sponsorships from local businesses. The deadline to sponsor the team was Wednesday. Businesses could choose a tier to purchase and have their business name printed on shirts.
The team is also holding a virtual canning fundraiser in hopes of raising enough money to make it to Florida. All of the donations will go towards flights and hotel rooms for the team. People can Venmo SaugusYFC to help out.
